14002498_10206841707217551_935140523_oHi! I’m Cat Scully! I’m an illustrator, writer, and graphic designer based in Atlanta, Georgia.

As illustrator, I’m best known for my world maps. I’ve worked on young adult, middle grade and adult traditional and self-published projects. My past maps include:  Winterspell by Claire Legrand, Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova, Seven Forges by James A. Moore, Unhooked by Lisa Maxwell, and The Gauntlet by Karuna Riazi.

I freelance as graphic designer and have nine years of experience working for A-list clients in broadcast, film, and publishing as well as a certificate in graphic design from CalArts. I design marketing material for authors like: Christopher Golden, James A. Moore, Lisa Maxwell, J. A. Noble, and more.

When I’m not illustrating I write horror, thriller, SFF, and a bit of WTF for kids, teens, and adults. Most of my personal projects are illustrated. If you would like to learn more about my books, please contact my agent Miriam Kriss at Irene Goodman literary agency.

On a selective basis, I work as a freelance editor with Cornerstones Literary Consultancy on horror, fantasy, and science fiction manuscripts in middle grade, young adult, and adult fiction. I’m also a Pitch Wars mentor with Brenda Drake’s contest every year where I help mentor new writers and help with their publishing journey.

I blog about writing and illustrating adventures at YA Outside The Lines.

  2. Hi Catherine, met you briefly after your fantastic panel on Stoker/Poe at AnachroCon. (I asked if you had heard about “Swearwolves” and we also chatted about the Likes for the “Fright Night” remake. Thanks for helping make that panel so awesome, lol.
